Shoppers, prepare your wallets! Amazon just announced that its annual Prime Day event will be on July 16-17, 2024. The timing of their announcement is just as we had predicted: Amazon typically announces this event in mid June. It's been held in mid-July for the past six years. The event usually runs around Amazon's July 12th birthday, so we're slightly surprised to see the sale occurring about a week later than usual. Amazon has only previously deviated from the norm for a delayed 2020 event in October and an early Prime day in 2021, both due to the pandemic. They also added an unexpected Fall event in 2022 with Prime-Worthy deals.

We’ve covered every Prime Day since its inception in 2015 and have learned all the ins and outs of this sale. We’ve learned what to expect, the deals you should snag, and what you should avoid. In recent years, we’ve seen other retailers offering some great deals to compete with Prime Day - setting off a new shopping trend called “Black Friday in July”. We’ll be sharing all the great Amazon deals as well as all the great Black Friday in July sales all month!

What to Expect

The 10th Amazon Prime Day will begin on July 16 at promptly 12:01 AM PDT. Prime Members will be able to score exclusive access to millions of deals that will continue to drop at a rapid pace - some occurring as often as every five minutes during certain periods of the event! Members can expect to see great deals on name brands like Kiehl’s, Clinique, and Allbirds as well as score great prices on Amazon- branded products.

Invite-only deals are back! This means that Prime members can request an invitation to exclusive deals that are prone to sell out. Some of these invite-only deals will include 30% off Peloton products and 40% off Sony Wireless Headphones.

How to Prepare

Here’s what you can do to prepare for the sale before the early deals start next month.

Become an Amazon Prime Member

Amazon Prime Day is a celebration of the value that is brought to Amazon Prime members, so it’s only fitting that Prime Members will be able to score the best deals. If you’re not a member, we recommend that you sign up for Amazon Prime or a free Prime Trial before the sale begins.

Sign Up for Invite-Only Deals

Amazon will be continuing its invite-only program for Prime Members from last year’s Prime Day. This allows members to request an invitation for premium access to Prime Day’s best deals that are the most likely to sell out. This year, members can expect invite-only deals like 58% on a Foreo LUNA mini 3 set and 60% off a Citizen Chronograph Watch.

If you’re selected for the deal, you will receive an email during Prime Day with instructions on how to get the exclusive price. You can find the inviation request on the product page near the "Add to Cart" button. We reccomend doing this in advance of Prime Day so you'll have the best chance to get selected for the deal.

Create Deal Alerts

Before you start browsing and impulse buying, jot down a list of necessities. Review their current prices and create a deal alert on Brad’s Deals for items you want to grab on Prime Day. By setting up a deal alert, you’ll get an email whenever something you’re shopping for gets posted to our site as a best-price deal. New deals will be dropping as freqeuently as every five minutes during select time periods, so act fast when you see the alert.

Not only do we have an in-house staff of shopping experts to vet every Amazon seller, but we also partner with Fakespot to verify and grade all Amazon product reviews to make sure they are trustworthy and legitimate. So when you get an alert from us, you know it’s from a vetted seller as well as the best price possible.

You can also get easy access to best-of-web Amazon deals with the Brad's Deals app for iPhone, iPad, and Android!

Don’t Believe the Hype

Create a list, utilize deal alerts, and shop smart! You can count on us to sort through the clutter for you and recommend the best products, at the lowest prices, and from the most-trusted Amazon sellers and other stores joining in the fun. Keep in mind that Amazon may not be the lowest price out there. Since Amazon started Prime Day over ten years ago, other retailers have used this as an opportunity to offer some great Black Friday in July deals as well. Luckily, our editor's do all the price-matching for you, so when you see us promote a product you can be sure it's the lowest price possible.

Beware of marketing gimmicks that want you to impluse buy. Seeing a timer ticking down can make you fee like you need to buy right away, but that doesn't always mean it's the best deal. We know the fear of missing out can sometimes make you feel like you need to purchase during these big sales, but we will let you know when something is a great buy, whether it is today or during Prime Day. There are plenty of great sales happening outside the event and we'll be sure to keep you up to date on all the best deals.

Stay tuned! We will be updating this page as we get more information about Prime Day, and soon we’ll be sharing our Prime Day 2024 predictions, breaking down a good deal vs. those you should avoid, and offering insights on what our shopping experts plan to buy.
