Not to be outdone by the second editon of Amazon Prime Day coming this month, Wayfair has just announced that their second Way Day event will return from October 5-7. Our experts are sharing everything you need to know about this mega-home event including our top tips on how to shop the sale.

What is Way Day?

Way Day is the biggest sales event of the year for Wayfair. It’s very much like Amazon Prime Day, but for your home. We typically see discounts of as much as 80% on furniture, home decor, lighting, bedding, and so much more. The sale typically occurs twice a year - once in the spring and once in the fall. The sale usually lasts 48 hours, though last year Wayfair extended the event to 72 hours.

When is Way Day 2024?

The first Way Day of 2024 ran from May 4th through May 6th. The second fall Way Day will be Ocotber 5th through October 7th. Be sure to keep an eye on our deal feeds for the latest Wayfair sales and updates.

Tips for Shopping the Way Day Sale

We recommend bookmarking the items you’ve been eyeing so that you can quickly reference to see if they’re on sale. The Way Day prices are only good for 48, maybe 72 hours, so if you see something you like we recommend you pick it up as soon as you see it. Your best bet is to keep an eye on our Wayfair Deal Feed. We’ll be sifting through the sale and posting the best deals in real time!

Additionally, pay attention to the daily Flash Sales. Wayfair will typically offer select items for steep discounts that are only good for one day. So while the sale may run for three days, certain prices will only be good for 24 hours. This sale is their most popular of the year, and items may sell out quickly!

What Should I Buy During Way Day?

Christmas Trees and Holiday Decor

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so it is an opportune time to grab some fall harvest decor to swap in for your spooky Halloween items! We'll likely see discounts of up to 70% on fall and winter holiday decor. Way Day will be the ideal time to find a great deal on a Christmas tree. We recently saw price drops of up to 70% off Christmas trees at Way Fair and we only expect this sale to increase during the event.

Patio Furniture

The fall Way Day is going to be the best time to get patio furniture left over from last season for a great price. Last year, we saw this highly reviewed Ebern Designs Outdoor 6-Piece Sofa Set dropping from $1,800 to $900. We also saw this Red Barrel Studio 4-Person Round Outdoor Dining Set with Cushions dropping from $629.99 to $399.99. We recommend that you bookmark any sets you currently have your eye on and check them during the sale. There is a very good chance they’ll have a significant price drop during Way Day.

Along with clearing out the patio furniture, this we'll likely also see the year's biggest price drops on deck boxes, pergolas, and outdoor playsets. Last year, we saw this 22-Gallon Deck Box dropping to a record low price of $36, down from its usual price of $56. It’s also one of the best times of year to stock up on summer playsets and inflatable water parks for the kids.
For the fall season, we’re on the lookout for fire pits to transition our outdoor entertaining spaces from summer to fall. Our pick is this stunning Concrete Propane Outdoor Fire Pit. We found it dropping in price from $719.99 to $649.99 earlier this year, and we’re hoping to see an even bigger discount on Way Day!

Storage Solutions

Fall is an ideal time to reorganize your home, so be sure to keep a close watch on the storage and organization section. Our eyes will be on this Loon Peak 10-12 Pair Shoe Cabinet, which we saw dropping from $213 to $84 during the last Way Day sale. It’s one of the hottest-selling items every year. Way Day typically brings the lowest prices of the year on bedding and comforter sets. Last year, we saw all-season comforter sets going for $25 in a queen size. Since Wayfair offered free shipping during their last Way Day event, that was one of the best prices we saw all year for similar sets. This upcoming fall sale would be the ideal time to upgrade your sheets to something cozier for this chilly months ahead.

Area Rugs

Another great way to freshen up your space for fall is by swapping out your area rugs for a fresh design. Luckily, you’ll find the best prices of the year on indoor and outdoor rugs on Way Day! We recently spotted this Geometric Docia Machine-Woven Rug dropping from $250 to $78 in a previous Way Fair sale. We expect to see a similar price during Way Day.

Mattresses & Bed Frames

If you’re looking to revamp your bedrooms ahead of the holidays, be on the lookout for some mattress and bed frame steals on Way Day! Last year, we saw this selection of queen-size memory foam mattresses dropping as low as $150! We'll also be on the lookout for great deals on bed frames, like this Alexz Wood Daybed with Pop-Up Trundle Bed. Last year we saw it dropping to $490 from its original price of $1,309! We’re also hoping to see this Mercury Row Verdugo Hydraulic Lift-Up Storage Upholstered Platform Bed on sale again. We caught it on the last Way Day dropping from $899 to $240 in full size.

Sofas

We find some of the best prices on sofas and loveseats during Way Day. We typically see many sofas priced below $500. The new season is a perfect time to try out a new funky style, like this Velvet Square-Arm Convertible Sofa, which we saw dropping from $679 to $319 during a sale earlier this month. We expect to see a similar, if not lower, price during Way Day.
