One of the most anticipated summer sales is Amazon’s annual Prime Day. It has been a sale that we’ve covered extensively since 2015. Every year, we sort through thousands of Prime Day deals to share the best deals and help you avoid the not-so-good deals. However, more and more retailers such as Target, Best Buy, and Walmart now offer their own deal events to compete with Prime Day. As a bonus, there’s no subscription required to participate in these sales! Here’s what you should know about the Prime Day competition so far.

Target

Target comes in strong with their biggest sale of the season: Circle Days! From 7/9-7/15 you can save up to 50% on categories from home to tech. Plus, you can add 5% cash back with a Target Red Card. Here’s what we know so far:

  • Up to $100 off Apple products

  • Spend $50 on home care products and get a $15 gift card

  • Spend $40 on beauty & health and get a $10 gift card

  • Up to 50% off top electronics

  • Up to 50% off top toys and outdoor

  • 50% off Select Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch video games

  • Up to 30% off apparel and shoes for the family

  • Up to 20% off grocery

  • $5 off books and puzzles

Expert Tip: Don’t want an extra credit card? Apply for the Red Card and link it to your debit card! The best part is you’ll earn 5% on virtually everything they sell.

Walmart

Walmart is having Walmart+ Week where you can save up to 40%. Members get early access to deals through 7/11. And an annual membership is just $49 for a limited time, a 50% discount. Members also get free shipping with no minimum on all orders.

Expert Tip: Amazon never offers great home necessity deals during Prime Day. Walmart is a great option if you’re looking for a deal on small kitchen appliances or cookware sets.

Best Buy

Best Buy’s Black Friday in July promises ‘better-than-Prime’ discounts. My Best Buy rewards members have access to exclusive deals and free two-day shipping. The sale parallels Prime Days and ends 7/11. We are loving their TV sales: Save up to $600 on top brands like LG, Samsung, Sony, and more.

Mike Ahene, one of our electronics experts, notes that Amazon will likely match some of the best TV prices on Prime Day. He adds that Best Buy is likely still the best option as you don’t need a Prime Membership to shop, and you can also pick up same-day…if the TV will fit in your car!

Expert Tip: My Best Buy rewards members are eligible for exclusive discounts. Join their program for free and reap the benefits.

Wayfair

Wayfair is once again holding their Warehouse Clearout event. The 72-hour sale boasts savings up to 60% off. For all our members that said they’d be looking for home, patio, and outdoor furniture deals, this will be your sale! We’re seeing deals on indoor and outdoor furniture, home improvement products, holiday decor, and more. Plus, there are incredible markdowns on TV consoles, originally $700 down to under $300.

Expert Tip: For great deals on furniture and home decor that you would not find on Amazon during Prime Day, Wayfair is the place to shop.

Even More Sales to Shop

While those are four of the biggest sales we’re seeing compete with Prime Day, Kohl’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot, Macy’s, and Nordstrom are all hosting competitive shopping events. Check back often as we are posting the best deals all week.

Just like you, we’ll be deal hunting like crazy during these summer sales and are here to help you save time and money. Add Brad, our free app, to keep tabs on the sales no matter where you are. Plus, it’s the only place where you can select your interests to customize your very own deal feed for savings you want to see first!

Our final Expert Tip: Don’t sweat it! Keep in mind that Amazon does not always have the best price, even if we’re conditioned to believe they do. There are plenty of deals (without expensive, yearly memberships needed) to comparison shop in July, and our team is on top of it!
