Get those holiday wish lists ready - Amazon just announced the dates of their October Prime Day sale! This highly anticipated event is sure to be the first big kickoff to the holiday shopping season. Our editors always look forward to the fall Prime Day event because it is the best time to make some early progress on their holiday shopping. The event will be very similar to their Prime Day event in July and will only last for two days.

When is Amazon's October Prime Day 2024?

Amazon’s October Prime Day will begin on Tuesday, October 8th at promptly 12:01 a.m. PDT and will conclude on October 9th at 11:59 p.m. PDT. The event is exclusive to Amazon Prime members, and you will also be able to access the sale by using a free Prime Trial. Prime members can score exclusive access to millions of deals that will continue to drop at a rapid pace throughout the course of the event.

What Are the Best Deals?

While we don’t know for sure what items will be on sale, we can say that we typically see the best prices of the year on Amazon-branded devices like Kindles, Blink security cameras, and Fire TVs.

In their press release, Amazon also mentioned we could expect discounts on electronics from brands like Samsung, Beats, and Fujifilm. Toys from brands like LEGO, Disney, and Squishmallows will be included in the sale. For the home, we can expect discounts on premium brands like Lenox, NEST New York, and Lodge. They also teased up to 40% off winter fashion items like sweaters and puffers from their Amazon Essentials brand.

Make sure you’re following us on Instagram and Facebook to stay up-to-date with the latest announcements!

How to Prepare

Here’s what you can do to prepare for the sale before it kicks off next month.

Become an Amazon Prime Member

Amazon Prime Day is a celebration of the value that is brought to Amazon Prime members, so it’s only fitting that Prime Members will be able to score the best deals. If you’re not a member, we recommend that you sign up for Amazon Prime or a free Prime Trial before the sale begins. It’s wise to sign up ahead of time, because Amazon is known to often start early Prime Day deals weeks in advance.

Keep an Eye Out for Invite-Only Deals

Although they haven’t announced the return of invite-only deals, we expect to see them make a return for their October event. These deals allow members to request an invitation for premium access to Prime Day’s best deals that are the most likely to sell out. During the last Prime Day, we saw invite-only deals like 30% off Peloton products and 40% off Sony wireless headphones.

Create Deal Alerts

Before you start browsing and impulse buying, jot down a list of items you may want to keep an eye on. Review their current prices and create a deal alert on Brad’s Deals for items you want to grab on Prime Day. By setting up a deal alert, you’ll get an email whenever something you’re shopping for gets posted to our site as a best-price deal. New deals will be dropping as frequently as every five minutes during select time periods, so act fast when you see the alert.

Not only do we have an in-house staff of shopping experts to vet every Amazon seller, but we also partner with Fakespot to verify and grade all Amazon product reviews to make sure they are trustworthy and legitimate. So when you get an alert from us, you know it’s from a vetted seller as well as the best price possible.

You can also get easy access to best-of-web Amazon deals with the Brad's Deals app for iPhone, iPad, and Android!

Beware of the Hype

Create a list, utilize deal alerts, and shop smart! You can count on us to sort through the clutter for you and recommend the best products, at the lowest prices, and from the most-trusted Amazon sellers and other stores joining in the fun. Keep in mind that Amazon may not be the lowest price out there. Since Amazon started Prime Day over 10 years ago, other retailers have used this as an opportunity to offer some great early holiday shopping deals as well. Luckily, our editors do all the price-matching for you, so when you see us promote a product you can be sure it's at the lowest price possible.

Beware of marketing gimmicks that want you to impulse buy. Seeing a timer ticking down can make you feel like you need to buy right away, but that doesn't always mean it's the best deal. We know the fear of missing out can sometimes make you feel like you need to purchase during these big sales, but we will let you know when something is a great buy, whether it is today or during Prime Day. There are plenty of great sales happening outside the event, and we'll be sure to keep you up-to-date on all the best deals.

Stay tuned! We will be updating this page as we get more information about the event, and soon we’ll be sharing our October Prime Day 2024 predictions, breaking down good deals vs. those you should avoid, and offering insights on what our shopping experts plan to buy.
