Amazon’s Prime Day is an exciting event, but sometimes what you get isn’t what you expected or wanted. Amazon has made it incredibly easy for shoppers to return items for free within 30 days of purchase. Plus, right now, with these wild economic times and a massive oversupply of inventory, it’s possible they might tell you to keep the item and still offer a refund.  Here are a few ways to make Prime Day returns easy on you.

Chris Rucks covered Amazon returns in a recent “What's The Deal?” episode. Watch it now!

Forget the Shipping Materials and Head to UPS

Yes, you heard us right. Don’t worry about the right-sized box, label, or tape. When it comes to most Amazon returns, you don't need any of that. Just start the return process with Amazon and select UPS Drop Off as the location option. They’ll send you a QR code to use in store by simply showing a picture of the QR code on your phone. Give them your items to be sent back, show them the QR code, and you’re done!

The best part about this? Amazon will automatically issue a refund as soon as UPS takes possession of the package!

…Or Use Kohl’s

We have found that many shoppers are still unaware that Kohl’s offers the same, easy return process as UPS. Surprise! As mentioned above, when you start the return process with Amazon, just select Kohl's Drop-Off as the location for the store nearest you, and Amazon will send you a QR code. Head to the Kohl’s location, no packaging necessary, and they’ll ship it back for free. Plus, you can get a little shopping in.

We’ve also heard that Kohl’s periodically rewards you for taking advantage of this service with coupons so you remember them for your Amazon returns!

Go To An Amazon Store or Whole Foods

If you live near an Amazon store or Whole Foods (owned by Amazon), you can drop off your return there. Just note that both of these stores are currently found in select cities, so finding a location may be more challenging. Follow the same process and select Amazon Store Dropoff or Whole Foods when you start the return process on Amazon, and they’ll recommend other options if those aren’t available to you. Next, you’ll get your QR code from Amazon to show to an employee at the customer service desk to complete your return.

The only caveat here…you need to bring your item(s) to either store in the original manufacturer's packaging.

Amazon returns are super easy when you follow these tips. We always consider shipping costs and ease of returns to give you the best, most convenient shopping experiences from beginning to end!
