The Free People brand has a laid-back, boho-inspired vibe that we totally love. While their vibe might fit our ideal fall wardrobe aesthetic, their price points certainly do not vibe with our budgets. Their pieces tend to fall in the $100-$200 range, which is a little more than we like to spend on trendier styles of clothing. We prefer to invest in classic capsule wardrobe pieces we know will be functional for years to come. But for trendier styles like these, our editors love a good dupe that gives us the same style at a budget-friendly price.

Today we’re sharing our top 8 favorite Free People dupes that you can pick up for a fraction of the cost of the real deal. As matter of fact, everything on our “dupe” list is under $50! In this article, you’ll find a trendy mix of lightweight, boho-chic styles that will help you bridge the gap between summer and fall.

Free People Dupes at Macy's

1. A Chic Denim Bomber Jacket

A Macy's denim bomber jacket besides a similar Free People denim bomber jacket.

We love the idea of taking a traditional denim jacket and giving it the edge of a bomber jacket. This Free People Flying High Cotton Bomber Jacket is super chic, but we're a little hesitant to spend $168 on a style we might not love as much next fall. Instead, we're picking up this And Now This Bomber Denim Jacket for $37.50 at Macy's. Not only is it $130 less, we actually prefer the design of the Macy’s version over the Free People jacket! It gives you the same funky look but in a much more wearable silhouette.

Free People: $168

Total Savings: $130.50

2. A Tiered Midi Skirt in a Bold Hue

A pink tiered midi skirt from Macy's besides a similar pink tiered midi skirt from Free People.

The entire Macy’s “And Now This” line gives us serious Free People vibes at a fraction of the cost. We recently found this And Now This Tired Midi Skirt for $47.50. It gives a very similar look to this Free People In Full Swing Midi Skirt which sells for $98 elsewhere. We love the savings, but we also prefer the thicker waistband on the Macy’s dupe. It looks much more comfortable and has a more flattering shape than the lower waistband of the Free People version.

Free People: $98

Free People Dupes at Kohl's

3. An Oversized Washed-Out Long-Sleeve Tee

A white oversized long sleeve shirt from Kohl's besides a similar white long sleeve shirt from Free People.

At just $17.99, this Oversized Boyfriend Vintage Washed Tee is a total steal! It looks very close to this Free People Fade Into You Knit Top, which costs $58 elsewhere. The Kohl’s version has the same laid-back vibe that we adore but costs so much less. It also comes in five different colors. Paired with leggings, these tops are perfect for chillier days around the house. You can also tuck these into a wide-leg jean and pair it with a knit sneaker for a chill errand-running outfit.

4. A Totally Wearable Pair of Wide-Leg Jeans

A pair of light wash wide leg jeans from Kohl's besides a similar pair of light wash wide-leg jeans from Free People.

We will forever love our skinnies, but we're totally embracing relaxed denim fits this fall. These Sonoma Wide-Leg Utility Jeans go for just $49.99 at Kohl’s, which is a total steal compared to these We The Free Winward Bootcut Jeans which sell for $98 at Free People. Although we love the puddle-jean effect of the Free People version, the higher hem on the Kohl's dupe is far more wearable. Choose from two washes.

Free People: $98

Total Savings: $48.01

JCPenney

5. The Most Adorable Workout Romper

A light blue active romper from JCPenney besides a similar light blue active romper from Free People.

This Arizona Sleeveless Romper is a dead ringer for this FP Movement Righteous Runsie! The Free People version will set you back a cool $98, but you can get the JCP dupe for $17-$20. It has the exact same cross back, front cutout, and flutter shorts that we love from the original. For fall, we'd style this with a light jacket, a pair of bunchy crew socks, and our favorite sneaker.

JCPenney: $19.99

Free People: $98

Total Savings: $78.01

6. The Chillest Graphic Sweater

A teal oversized sweater with Vancouver written across it from JCPenney besides a blue oversized sweater with London written across it from Free People.

We love the chill vibe of this oversized Camden Pullover from Free People, but the $98 price tag is a little steep. This JCPenney Arizona Crew-Neck Long-Sleeve Sweatshirt gives the same feel, but only costs $19.99! We love the teal shade on the JCP version and the fitted sleeves that make it look very similar to the Free People Pullover. Even better, there are over 10 colors to choose from!

JCPenney: $19.99

Free People: $98

7. An Oversized Tee in an Unexpected Color Combo

A green and pink oversized striped top from Amazon besides a similar green and pink striped oversized top from Free People.

Our editors are loving this Anarabess Oversized Tee from Amazon! It is almost exactly the same as this Free People Classic Striped Oversized Crew Neck, but it only costs $18-$20. The Free People version will set you back $98. We love contrasting neon accents against the pink and green stripes. This one is going to be heavy in our fall rotation this year.

Amazon: $18

Free People: $98

Total Savings: $80

8. A Waffle Knit Shacket

A tan oversized waffle knit shacket from Amazon besides a similar tan oversized waffle knit shacket from Free People.

If you’re looking for a laid-back fall vibe, this Free People Scout Waffle Knit Shacket totally fits the bill! But if you’re like us, the $128 price tag absolutely does not. Instead, pick up this Saukole Button-Down Long-Sleeve Jacket at Amazon. Prices vary, but we typically see this style priced from $30-$35. You’ll get a near-perfect dupe for the Free People jacket, and you’ll keep about $90 in your pocket!
