Resolution refers to how densely the tiny dots (also known as “pixels”) are assembled on a TV screen. Individual pixels combine to create the image you see on the TV screen, which means the higher the pixel count the higher the resolution–and the more lifelike the picture will appear.
Other tips:
Resolution type is particularly important for larger screen TVs (43”+). To achieve clear picture quality, we recommend a higher resolution type as the screen size increases.
The image quality on a 4K TV is more vivid than a Full HD TV because the pixels are smaller on the 4K TV than on the Full HD TV.
The higher the resolution is of your TV, the closer the distance you can watch from without detecting the individual pixels.
TVs come in various sizes, but we recommend selecting the largest size your space and budget allows. See below table for recommendations on popular TV screen sizes based on viewing distance.
If you have strict screen size constraints, consult the “Recommended Screen Size” section of the Resolution Guide above to select the right resolution type.
Be sure to compare the exact TV dimensions with your furniture setup and space.
