Directions

Keep it Clean: Regularly clean your band and wrist—especially after working out or sweating. Rinse the band with water or wipe it with a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Do NOT use hand soap, body soap, dish soap, hand sanitizers, cleaning wipes or household cleaners which could get trapped beneath the band and irritate skin. Always dry the band well before putting it back on. Keep it Dry: While Fitbit devices are water resistant*, it’s not good for your skin to wear a wet band for long periods of time. If your elastomer band gets wet—like after sweating or showering—rinse and dry it thoroughly before putting it back on your wrist. Be sure your skin is dry before you put your band back on. Don’t Wear It Too Tight: Make sure your band isn’t too tight. Wear the band loosely enough that it can move back and forth on your wrist. If you use Fitbit products with Purepulse Heart Rate tracking, for better heart rate readings during exercise, we suggest wearing the band so it’s secure, but not too tight, and wearing the band higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). Lower the band on your wrist and loosen it after exercise. Give Your Wrist a Rest: Prolonged rubbing and pressure may irritate the skin, so give your wrist a break by removing the band for an hour after extended wear. Love it just a little upset

Love it just a little upset
I was really excited to get this for my birthday. I was upset when I found out it doesn't track flights of stairs. I haven't tried it out in the water yet I'm a little nervous it will get ruined because I have terrible luck. The clasps were so hard to switch between small and large bands. Honestly I think they should leave it in the large because I've never seen someone wear a small. Since my wrist isn't to big but isn't small enough to fit in a small, the extra clasp holes just move around and hang on my wrist which looks ridiculous. Maybe if they had a loop to hold the extra material in place it would look better. I have problems with getting it to sync to my phone at times. I know its not the phone alone because I have tried to do it with friends phones when theirs work perfectly. Most of the time it goes off saying I have a call but it was over an hour ago. At times fitbit.com has the updated information when the app does not which is a real bummer. I enjoy the challenges just got one a few minutes ago and it said I received it January 1st 1970. I have no clue what happened there at all!I really enjoy that I can go swimming with it. I hate running and jogging so swimming is how I burn most of my calories. With my Charge I would look up how many calories x amount of swimming would use and log it that way I knew roughly how much I was burning. Being able to automatically detect swimming is amazing and the main reason why I bought it! The tracker is very easy to put into the band. I'm slightly OCD so it takes me a few to get it the way I like it. It has to be right side up and the clasp has to be on the outer side of my wrist for personal preference. I love how small it is and the fact that the lights are not super bright and they do not turn on when you flick your wrists. With the charge I would always blind myself when I turned over in bed.Overall there are a few "minor" issues depending on your preference. Over all very good but I don't suggest switching to the Flex 2 unless you do a lot of swimming and make it worth it.

This summer my fiance requested a Fitbit. One night there was a sale too good to pass up, so I quickly did as much research as I could and weighed it with what my fiance wanted in a fitness band. I got her the Alta back in late June and she loved it! After having it for a week or two and really getting acquainted with it, she started showing me all the stuff it tracked in the app and I was seriously impressed. As a longtime Samsung Gear Fit user, I saw the Fitbit app blew the Gear Fit's out of the water. When I originally got my Gear Fit I wanted something that tracked my heart rate and steps but also could show me time, texts, and notifications from certain apps, as I missed wearing an actual watch, but wanted some tech too. While I still wanted a watch, I decided to get myself the smallest, cheapest Fitbit so I too could utilize the app, and I am thrilled with this little guy. So these days I still wear my Gear Fit on my watch arm and the Flex 2 on my other wrist. It works for me and I am very happy. The thing I love about the Flex 2 is its size. It is so small! My one main problem with the Gear Fit was that it was just a bit too big to sleep with on, as it would cause my arm to really fall asleep badly, so I could never utilize the sleep function of the watch. Even the Alta my fiance has is too big for her (causes the same problem on her as my Samsung does with me) but this Flex 2 poses no such problem with me, so I have been really happy that I can now track my sleep. It has given me some serious insight into how I spend my sleeping hours.

Overall, I lover this thing! The app is superb, the Fitbit is tiny, water resistant, and holds a good charge. The band is nice too. The next smartwatch I get will be more aesthetically pleasing and less fitness based because I've got this little Flex 2 that tracks all the fitness type stuff I need.

Ok, I am a longtime Fitbit user and was hoping the Fitbit2 would be a quantum improvement on an otherwise great product. After using it for a few weeks I can say that it certainly is.
The core functions of the original Fitbit always served my running workout routine well. However I always wished I could use it in the pool. That said I was skeptical it would actually record my lap swim accurately. It worked great, better than hoped for. My first clue that this was a quantum improvement came after the first gym visit wearing the Fitbit2. It recognized that I was on a elliptical machine and recorded it promptly. For the swim, I set the pool length (finding how to do that was not easy though) and started in. I also set it to notify me when I passed my 45 minute first benchmark. I also used a watch and counter also to make things honest. At 45 minutes the band vibrated which I could feel in the water. After I found it had not only correctly timed the 1 hour swim, but had correctly calculated the distance and added to the Dashboard!! Wow, just what I needed!!
I noticed a few concerns, but nothing that have kept me from being impressed. All and all, so far HIGHLY recommend.
    Pros:
    1. Does all the original Fitbit did in a smaller more secure package
    2. GREAT for swimming laps. No need to wear a separate swimming watch.
    3. Update process was smooth
    4. Better appearance and stronger clasp.

    Cons:
    1. Seems to last about 5 days between charges, old one was 7. That may change as I stabilize my usage pattern.
    2. Not simple to program swim mode. Seems simple after you figure it out but not immediately intuitive.
    3. The way the device inserts into the band requires bending the band. This concerns me that band breakage such as with the Fitbit1 may become a problem again.

I am among the sizable minority of people for whom this Fitbit Flex 2 simply did not work. I had repeated problems trying to get it to sync to the app, and after literally hours of effort, was finally able to get it to work FOR ONE DAY. The next day it would not sync, and even following the same methods (and more!) that I had tried the day before did not fix the problem. The device itself did seem to be functioning properly (in that it delivered the appropriate feedback to indicate when I had achieved the first 2500 steps, the next 2500 steps, etc.). The problem is the ability of the device and the app to sync with each other.

Here's what I tried to get this Fitbit Flex 2 to work:

Uninstall and reinstall the app (close to a dozen times probably)
Turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on (at least a half dozen times, probably more)
Reboot the pebble using the charging cable (twice)
Force stop the app (at least twice)
Run through the steps in the app to sync it with the device (at least 2 dozen times)

In running through the steps in the app to get this device to sync to the app, sometimes I got to the point where it said "We found your tracker!" and sometimes I didn't. I was only ever able to get it to pair twice. The first time it paired (apparently?) but wasn't showing any data in the app, and the second time I did get it to work, but when I woke up the next morning, my sleep had not been tracked and my step count from the previous days was still showing up for the current day, with a "sync error" type message. I was never able to get it to sync to the current day after that.

My entire experience with this product has been extremely frustrating. I definitely want a fitness tracker, but my experience with this product has turned me off of Fitbit entirely.

I am extremely disappointed, as I really liked the minimalist design of this tracker. I am returning it (of course). I wish I could also be compensated for the hours of my life I invested in trying to get this thing to work, and the amount of frustration I experienced in the process. I can't believe Fitbit has such a good reputation.

DO NOT BUY!!! This item is a piece of trash.

UPDATE: I purchased a no-name fitness tracker for one third the price of this one, and I am very happy with it. Setting it up and synching it to the app were both a breeze. Don't waste your time with this one. You can pay less and be a happier customer too.

This little gizmo that will tell you to move when you're being lazy, and celebrates when you hit your step goal! It's simple, it doesn't have a watch because time is a silly wibbly wobbly ball of...stuff anyway, I like it. This is a lot of fun and has helped keep me from dying early from a sedentary lifestyle as a human battery powering the Matrix.

Reviewing after around 10 days of use

    Pros:
Excellent tracking - Fitbit's algorithms are very accurate at tracking the distances and exercises even without having a GPS sensor built in
Excellent app - love the infographics shown. it is one thing being able to track steps and another representing it beautifully in all the myriad ways that they do
Very lightweight - get used to wearing it in just a few hours
Swim-proof - have yet to go for a swim but was one of the major reasons for me buying it

    Cons:
Battery - this is the biggest let down. for a device which doesn't have GPS or a screen, the 4-5 day battery life is a major let-down. The compact, lightweight form factor only partially makes up for this
No clock - call me a tradionalist, but if I'm wearing something on my wrist, it should bloody well show the time
No heart-rate monitor, GPS - while Fitbit's algorithms do a great job of calculating calories and distances, it is always good to have dedicated monitors for these. but then, this is the cheapest of the Fitbits

The Fitbit Flex 2 is great if you just need the basics; steps walked, distance covered, calories burned. The device, combined with the Fitbit app. assists with tracking water intake, food intake, can track how much weight you've lost, as well as having an exercise and sleep tracker. I find the ability to set vibration alarms is very handy, as I don't wake anyone else in the house if I don't wake up straight away to switch it off!

The battery lasts a couple of days, and is quick to recharge. Connectivity is great, even with my old Samsung S5 phone.

The band is completely adjustable and sits comfortably on your wrist, as a watch would. Great purchase!
