*********UPDATE REVIEW AFTER ONE WEEK****************Buyer beware on this TV! After one week, I have had TWO of these TV's, the original one I ordered as well as the replacement that Amazon was nice enough to overnight me on a Saturday. The HDMI ports on these TV's are defective. On the first one it was just my HDMI 2 port, but on the replacement both HDMI 1 and 2 are defective. It is almost impossible to get an HDMI cable into the port. You have to wiggle and JAM it into the port. This WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HDMI PORT AND THE CABLE. After 3 days the HDMI port I had to wiggle the cable into quit working completely. As soon as I realized that the replacement TV had the same issue, I didn't even bother setting it up. Fortunately Amazon has a fantastic customer service department, and has accepted both returns, but it is a HUGE inconvenience. 2 Thumbs up for Amazon customer service, two thumbs down for TCL.*****************************************************************************************************************************************************************I recently moved to the Tampa area from KC for cancer treatments, and I was needing a large LED TV for my bungalow. I didn't have a ton of money to spend, as the move has been very very expensive for me. After hours of research I decided on this TCL Roku TV. I am very glad that I did!Is this the BEST PICTURE of any of the TV's on the market, NO! Does this TV have the best feature set in the world, NO! What this TV does have is a very solid picture quality, and some outstanding smart TV capabilities. All in all I am VERY pleased with this TV. I do not feel I could have got a better value for my money ANYWHERE! Read on if you want a better review.1. The shipping - My TV was delivered via FedEx with two day Prime Shipping. When the FedEx driver brought this into my lanai, he told me he was VERY impressed with how well the TV was boxed up. There was an outer box which was plain brown, with only the shipping labels on it. He told me that almost NO ONE does this. Most TV's are shipped in only the original TV Box. Since many of his shipments do not require a signature, he was very impressed. This also keep the original TV box from getting scratched up.2. Unboxing and Setup - The TV was VERY well boxed inside of the original TV box. There is even a particle board layer that helps protect the screen from damage during shipment. The TV was VERY easy for me to unbox by myself, as the TV is very light weight. The included legs were very easy to install, and look rather nice. Nicer than I expected. Since I am only renting my house right now, I didn't want to Wall Mount this, but the rear mounts for Wall Mounting looked well. The "instructions" are just a quick start guide, but that is really all you need. The included remote is small, but more on that later. Set up could not be easier! You are walked through the entire process, and setting up the Roku part, the HDMI Ports (which you literally plug in, turn the device on, and let the TV do the rest) and my Antenna was a snap. Literally from unboxing to watching TV took under 20 minutes.3. Picture Quality - I did not opt to get the 4K UHD version of this TV, as in all fairness, not much is in UHD yet, and if your not close to the TV your eyes cannot tell the difference anyway. Other TV's have local dimming, and an ambient light sensor. This TV has neither. Other TV's have far more control over the picture, and the TCL is far more limited. What the TCL does offer is a great picture, with very little fuss. You do have a few options such as: Low Power Mode, Movie, Vivid, etc. Those do allow you a bit more control over your picture. There are some "advance" settings, but I was pretty darn happy with what the modes offered. The picture is darn good for the money.4. Roku Experience - I had heard of Roku, but had no experience with it until I got this TV. I wish I had known about it sooner. It is "baked" into the TV, and I am sure glad that it is! I absolutely LOVE the Roku experience on this TV. You can set it so that when you turn on your TV it load your cable box immediately, but I prefer to have it set to load the home screen when I turn on the TV. Searching for shows and movies to watch is just amazing. I cannot say enough good things about the Roku experience I have had so far. It is simple, easy to use, and allows me to save time by searching for a show, clicking on that show, and letting Roku do all the work. I can download the "channels" that I like, and order them on the homescreen according to which ones I use the most. A LOT of people complain about the remote, as it does NOT have numbers on it at all. I dont feel that I need numbers on the remote, as when I choose what to watch, Roku does the rest for me. I love that I can use my smartphone as a remote and for voice search.Sound Quality - this TV has bottom facing speakers which is pretty darn awesome! The sound quality is not stellar, and there are a few sound profiles for you to choose from, but honestly I dont see much of a difference. You won't get great sound out of this TV out of the box, but it is very acceptable. The volume does go up quite loud, and there is little distortion. That being said, you get almost NO BASS.Dollar for Dollar this TV is just awesome, and I am very happy with my purchase. The built in Roku is a HUGE plus in my opinion, and I am sorry that I hadn't used Roku before. My Xbox ONE and PS4 play very well on this TV.

We got this at what we thought was a great price for this size. We like that the streaming was built in...so we can save an HDMI port for yet another one of my son's video games. It looks really good...I am no expert on televisions, but we all think it is great. There were a few issues.

      1. It comes with an odd "roku-like" remote. There are photos of if posted. I don't like not having numerals. I am also left handed and the volume is on the side. So I seem to bump it with my thumb. I did set up my logitech remote and it works well, but with a "home" screen that automatically pops up when you turn on the tv, you have to choose different icons to get to where you want. Extra steps with either remote.

      2. The feet of the tv are way out to the side. The photo does show it, but I didn't catch it right away. For us, it meant that it didn't fit on our smaller stand. It was just a few inches shorter, and it was certainly big enough to support the television, so we weren't going to go and buy another one for 5 inches more width. What we did was attach the feet BACKWARDS (I attached a photo.) That hack gave us a few inches more, which was enough room to have the tv slightly overhang our stand. It is sturdy, no wobbling. Just wanted to post that it does work in case anyone else wanted to try it.

      3. The "receiver" for the IR of the remote is low, front center. Which means if you have a soundbar (which I do!) you can't put it in front of your tv, or else you block the remote from working. I thought this was kind of a dumb place for it. I realize it looks sleeker and stuff, and there is a light on it (which I don't need), but many people do have soundbars. I stuck mine behind the tv now, and the sound is still pretty good. But not everyone may want that set up.

I didn't take any stars away from my rating because of those things. I felt they weren't any real shortcoming of the product, just more like preferences. We do really like the television.

Great TV, a couple of things you might wanna think about though...and one little hack!

Literally from unboxing to watching TV took under 20 minutes.

      3. The picture is darn good for the money.

      4. I love that I can use my smartphone as a remote and for voice search.

Sound Quality - this TV has bottom facing speakers which is pretty darn awesome! The sound quality is not stellar, and there are a few sound profiles for you to choose from, but honestly I dont see much of a difference. You won't get great sound out of this TV out of the box, but it is very acceptable. The volume does go up quite loud, and there is little distortion. That being said, you get almost NO BASS.

Dollar for Dollar this TV is just awesome, and I am very happy with my purchase. The built in Roku is a HUGE plus in my opinion, and I am sorry that I hadn't used Roku before. My Xbox ONE and PS4 play very well on this TV.
